Today Raggaetonline.net posted their review of Baby Rasta’s new release entitled “La Ultima Riser,” the CD itself has been out now for quite some time, it was released on October 10th.

According to them the album was marketed as being full of great material but they feel it feel short.. but before we get negative lets look at the postive side of the review

“To start off Baby Rasta’s solo album was completely “solo”. He did not feature any other artists or do collaboration with any other rappers but himself. The producers that contributed with Baby Rasta included: Taz Manian, Mambo Kingz, Walde, Mekka, Noriega, Raffy Mercenario, Sosa, and Eliot. The beats and effects of this album were good.”

So Baby Rasta is the only artist in the album, no collaboratios or anything, when I heard this I was quite shocked.. I knew Rasta wanted to make this a solo album but he just took it to a whole new level! But really that news isn’t to bad.. the review only turned nasty when they started digging into the songs.

“Most of the songs were average but no classics. There will not be songs that fanatics will be singing over and over. My favorites were: Toma Nena, Haciendonos el Amor, Amiga De Ti Me Enamore, Perrounska, Haciendonos el Amor, and a few more. One of the best songs was “De Ti Me Enamore” which was originally from the album “Los Benjamins””

OUCH.. considering Baby Rasta’s past releases which all had at least one song that would just stick in your head that certainly doesn’t bode well.

“La Ultima Risa” is definitely not one of the best albums this year. I will refer “La Ultima Risa” as an average cd but not good enough. Baby Rasta “La Ultima Risa” receives a 6 out of 10 from Frankey from Reggaetonline.net”

Double OUCH

Baby Rasta In California · 989 days ago by Baby Jay

Last night Baby Rasta took to the stage in a small club, El Rancho, in a equally small town of Concord.

On stage he performed well singing “El Carnaval” which is the song he is best known for since his Baby Rasta y Gringo days, many local fans remembered the song from the radio and sang along.

As soon as Rasta finished his first song he went on to promote his new solo album “La Ultima Risa” by handing out posters and free CD’s to a number of fans who were near the stage!

He went on to do a medley of some of his older material from the 1990’s and seemed visibly shocked to see some fans actually knew the lyrics!! Espically since those songs really only ever gained real popularity in Latin America.

At this point Baby Rasta’s fans begain to yell out names of songs but the DJ on site didn’t have the instrumentals, unwilling to disappoint his fans he sang “Tu Cuerpo Quiero Tocar”, “Yo Quiero Ver”, “Tengo Una .40” and “Vela Por Tu Vida” in acapella and many of the fans were quite thrilled!
